Smart Film Installation on Custom Arched Glass
Opaque Smart Glass completed this PDLC smart film installation in Staten Island, New York, adding on-demand privacy to the existing glass windows of a meeting room.
One of the distinctive features of this project is the shape of the glass. In addition to the large rectangular panes, the room includes narrow arched windows that required the smart film to be carefully fitted to the existing glass.
The finished installation provides a clean, integrated appearance while preserving the architectural character of the windows.
Instant Privacy for a Meeting Room
With the flip of a switch, the PDLC smart film changes from clear to opaque, allowing the meeting space to have privacy when needed without permanently blocking the glass.
When transparent, the glass maintains a more open environment and allows light to pass through the space. When switched to opaque, the film provides immediate visual privacy for meetings, presentations, and other activities inside the room.
Because smart film is applied directly to existing glass, it can be an excellent retrofit solution for offices and commercial spaces that want switchable privacy without replacing their existing windows or glass partitions.
